Which Peruvian Gold Bar Soap Should You Choose?
A good bar of soap should make an everyday wash feel a little more special. Our nine chunky, hand-cut bars bring together plant oils, botanicals, and essential oils, with no fragrance oils. If you’re new to Peruvian Gold, here’s a little about what goes into them—and where we’d suggest starting.

Plants with purpose, from the beginning
Peruvian Gold is rooted in Peruvian plant knowledge and the belief that every ingredient should earn its place. That thinking carries into our soaps: olive, coconut, and sustainably sourced palm oils with shea butter form the foundation, while herbs, clays, and essential oils give each bar its own character. We don’t use fragrance oils or artificial dyes. Our scented bars get their scent from essential oils; Dulce Avena keeps things simple without an added essential-oil blend.
Love lavender? Start here
Lavanda Flor is our straightforward lavender bar, with lavender essential oil and lavender buds. Lavanda Valle brings fir needle into the blend for a more wooded, herbal take on lavender, with clays and activated charcoal. If you love lavender on its own, choose Flor. If you like a little forest with your flowers, try Valle.
For a bright, fresh wash
Inca Sol brings you lemongrass essential oil and lemongrass herbs. Tierra Menta pairs rosemary and peppermint with menthol and rosemary powder. Monte Verde combines eucalyptus and spearmint with zeolite and green clays. Think bright lemongrass, crisp peppermint, or softer spearmint—whichever sounds like the wash you’d look forward to.
If you like citrus, earth, or spice
Luz Cobriza blends sweet orange, patchouli, and cedarwood, with black walnut powder. El Dorado is a richer blend of orange, patchouli, clove, cinnamon, amyris, and anise, with annatto and rosehip powders. Rosa Nieve brings together lemon, peppermint, Egyptian geranium, cinnamon leaf, and clove bud, with clays and rose petals. There’s plenty to explore here if you enjoy a soap with a little more depth.
Looking for our goat-milk and oatmeal bar?
Dulce Avena is the one. We pair goat milk and oatmeal with our plant-oil and shea soap base, without an added essential-oil blend. If you prefer an unscented wash or want to keep your routine simpler, this is a lovely place to start. It does contain goat milk, so keep that in mind if you avoid dairy ingredients.
A chunky bar worth taking care of
Our bars are hand-cut to approximately 4.5 ounces, so each one has a little individuality. Give yours a place to drain and dry between washes. A soap saver is a small addition that helps keep your favorite bar from sitting in a puddle.
Try one, or find a few favorites
You don’t have to choose the same scent for every sink and shower. Start with the one that calls to you, or try a few and see which you reach for most. Lavender for one bathroom, lemongrass for another, something earthy for your own shower—there’s room to make the collection yours.
