Yes, but we are still measuring shelf life in years, not months. What sets our products apart is that they are also highly effective and made fresh so they actually deliver results. We are confident you will love our balms so much that you will enjoy every bit long before expiration is ever a concern.
We use potent, natural preservatives to support a multi-year shelf life while maintaining ingredient integrity. Although effective, these preservatives are not as aggressive as synthetic preservatives or chemical stabilizers. Proper care of your products once opened will reduce exposure to microorganisms that naturally occur from skin contact and the air. Be sure to close your container promptly after each use to lock in freshness. Leaving it open may result in a slight change in color or scent over time.
Our products not sit on shelves for long periods of time. Each batch is hand blended in small quantities and made within the last two to four months to ensure peak freshness and quality. You will find a clear expiration date on the back of every product, typically about two years from the date of purchase. For best results, we recommend opening and using your product at least six months before that date.
No. Many of our products contain organic beeswax, and some may also contain lanolin or tallow. We do not formulate our products with a focus on being vegan. Instead, we prioritize effectiveness, tradition, and ingredient integrity. A full list of ingredients is provided on each product so you can make informed choices that best suit your lifestyle.
Of course! A melted balm or slightly mushy balm in no way impairs the efficacy of your product. However, the best course of action is to shut it tight and place it in the refrigerator. It will start to firm up pretty quickly (within the hour).
All of our products contain natural waxes which means they do not easily melt, especially at home. Shipping, however, can present a challenge in the summer, particularly in the south. Product might melt during delivery or simply sitting in your mailbox. Just a quick visit to the fridge will resolve any melting issues and in no way affect the healing properties of our balms. We take pride in keeping our formulas free from synthetic stabilizers and feel this small issue is worth the small hassle to maintain our company's standard of toxic-free, natural healing.
