Which Botanika Liquid Soap Is Right for You?

2 min read

Botanika gives you six choices, from simple and unscented to lavender, lemongrass, mint, and earthy citrus. If Castile soap is new to you, it’s a traditional soap made from plant oils. Our concentrated liquid version starts with organic sunflower, coconut, olive, and castor oils, plus aloe.

Peruvian Gold Wellness Sensitive Botanika Liquid Soap

The Peruvian Gold approach to an everyday wash

Our brand grew from Peruvian plant knowledge and a simple belief: ingredients should have a purpose. For Botanika, that means a plant-oil soap with no fragrance oils or artificial dyes. Our scented varieties use essential oils, and Sensitive leaves out added scent altogether. You get to choose the blend you enjoy without wondering what’s hidden behind a mystery fragrance.

Want a simple, unscented option?

Sensitive Botanika has no added essential oils or fragrance. It’s made with our organic plant oils and aloe, along with the ingredients needed to make and balance the soap, including potassium hydroxide and citric acid. Potassium hydroxide is used during soapmaking and doesn’t remain after the oils become soap. If you prefer to leave scent out of your wash, start here.

Lavender or lemongrass

Lavanda Flor is our lavender choice: familiar, floral, and herbal. Inca Sol brings the bright freshness of lemongrass. Both keep the essential-oil blend simple. Choose the one you’d enjoy washing your hands with throughout the day.

Two different takes on mint

Tierra Menta combines rosemary and peppermint with menthol for a crisp herbal wash. Monte Verde pairs eucalyptus with the softer sweetness of spearmint. If you already know which kind of mint you love, that’s a good way to choose. If you don’t, try one now and the other next time.

Citrus with a little earthiness

Luz Cobriza brings orange and patchouli together. It’s our choice for someone who enjoys bright citrus with an earthy finish. If you’ve tried the bar, you’ll recognize the family, but the recipes differ: our Luz Cobriza bar also contains cedarwood and black walnut powder.

A little concentrate goes a long way

Our current Botanika bottles are 16 ounces of concentrated soap. For a foaming hand-soap refill, you dilute the soap with water rather than fill the dispenser with concentrate. That’s part of the value of the bottle: you can make more ready-to-use soap from it. The amount of water depends on what you’re making, so we’ve put the recipes together in our free Castile Soap Recipe Guide.

Find your everyday favorite

Start with Sensitive if you want no added scent, or choose an essential-oil blend that makes an ordinary hand wash more enjoyable. You can keep one favorite by the sink or try a few throughout your home. Follow the guide and bottle directions for each use.
